So it happened..... The summer ended and the madness of school has begun once more. I have been back at school for 2 days now, and I am already busy (but not yet to the point of insanity). I only have 2 labs this year, which are good, and they look pretty easy (which saved my life). My Mechanisms Of Microbial Disease class is freaking awesome!!!! I swear, like everyone I know is in that class (including a few that I would rather not see ever again hem hem) but it is so great to see everyone again! I was running around before class saying hi to everyone (and getting a lot of comments on my hair cut lol).

Tuesdays and Thursdays on the other hand are a little hard to bear. 4 and a half straight hours in one classroom. Not a comfortable one either. It's like sitting in church pews. Luckly, Yosha is in all 3 of those classes lol so she can bear the boring-as-all-hell Biological Energy Transduction with me. Luckly it is taught by Dr Dibrov (who is hilarious because of his crazy Russian accent and obsession with science fiction). I haven't had to deal with a 9 hour day yet so I can't say much about how hard my Tuesdays and Thursdays really are.

 

I had my first piano teaching experience today. And an experience it was. I don't really know what I'm doing yet, because I dont know much about the crazy zillions of books that they use at the place that I teach. It's kind of hard because I can't teach the way I want to, but I have to do it their way. So we'll see how it goes I guess. It will probably get better when I get more used to it. I'm looking more forward to my other students that are independent of the music school that I teach at.

 

I have to get to my uber-studying so I will keep it short today :P

I post this blog to announce that my space has finally reached 10,000 page views!!! It totally would have been like 10 months ago except that I had stopped posting in like forever. I think that I might start posting again this year (if I have time) so all my friends that I will never see will be able to at least have some idea of what I've been doing lately. We'll see though.

 

So let's recap the summer:

I worked pretty much full time hours at Walmart

I had mono for like a month

I went to the beach twice, to the lake for a weekend and a couple times swimming in friend's pools

Mini golfing, bonfires, a lot of ice cream runs

Babysat a guinea pig for a month

My boyfriend lived in my basement all summer

I went to Grand Forks for a couple of days

 

I can't think of much else right now cuz I'm kind of rusty on my space writing. All in all it sounds like I did enough this summer to justify going back to school on thursday :P

 

EEEEEK!!!!! I just can't stand thinking of back to school!!! This year I am taking a lot of courses that I can barely even remember their names!

1. Molecular genetics of Prokaryotes

2. Mechanisms of microbial disease

3. Biological energy transduction

4. Molecular biology

5. Microbial diversity

Luckly I only have 2 labs this term. Although I will still be busier than a madman in a chase because I am teaching piano this year!!! I am sooo excited, but also very very scared. I guess we'll see how it goes.

So, after a bajillion years of being busy, I finally have enough time to blog. :P  A bajillion things have happened since my last post, most of which I will not explain here seeing as I don't have that much time, nor do you have that much patience! lol I have spent most of my life studying, or going to school and almost all of my time with James or Apoorva lol (seeing as she's in like all my classes)

So the major highlights of my life in the last few months as I can remember them:

     Valentines day, me and James went to the Manitoba Museum (yeah we're nerds) and it was awesome!!!! We took a lot of pictures (but my camera sucks so most of them didnt turn out) and ran around on the Nonsuch. It was pretty awesome. We also took awesome pictures of us in front of the forest fire exhibit and it actually looked like we were running away from a fire. hahahaha. We also took turns posing on the big rock like The Little Mermaid and it was hilarious!!! I never noticed before that in the little village part there is a sign that says "hotel rooms 50c" lol so we took a pic of him smiling and pointing to it hahaa. That was an awesome Valentine's day!!!

     And we finally found a bar that is not filled with skanky-hos and is fun to go to!!! We went to cowboys a couple of weeks ago before the insanity of exams started (ok my exams technically started in like October and never ended till the end of the school year, but i didn't (really) have to study (hard) that weekend). It was awesome. We totally got Kendra drunk (which was totally the highlight of the evening). We got to listen to her yell out the window of the car "I love you Walmart" as we drove by, as well as seeing her hilarious drunk dancing, and having her get mad at us when we told her that her hair was on fire for the billionth time. The best thing though was her song on the way home "corihellivator was an elevator that didn't have no doors. corihellivator was an elevator that liked to go up two floors" lol. Good old times with Drunk Kendra. We were also doing some crazy-swinging-each-other-around dancing and it was awesome. There were these ppl that kept dancing around the dance floor and running into James so we totally got them back cuz we kept swinging each other into them. mwahahahahaa.

 

Also dudes!! I got a cell phone!!! It is cool because it is a cell phone and it is mine. (not that anyone actually calls me on it *glares at everyone*). My friends were all laughing at me cuz when I walked into the place the dude was all "can I help you with anything?" and I was all "I would like to buy a cell phone please" and they thought that it was the funniest thing ever. I swear the ppl at the cell phone place think that I am retarded, because I always say stupid crap when I go in there. Like when I was looking at phones last time and I told the guy that I didn't like the one he was showing me cuz it was ugly and I wanted a pretty one lol. I'm such a weirdo.

 

Awesomeness galore: MS WALK IS ON SUNDAY!!! And it will be the awesomest thing on this side of the universe. EVERYBODY BETTER HAVE THEIR FUNDRAISING DONE OR THEY HAVE ME TO ANSWER TO!!!! IT will be awesome because a lot of cool ppl are coming and we are going to have an awesomely good time like last time. And I am bringing Rice Krispies to feed to the ducks. Stay tuned for information about how the MS walk was.

 

And Congrats to Apoorva for going to Ghana. She is going on a development trip to Ghana with Engineers without borders for four whole months. We'll miss you man!!! (ps expect an awesome getting back present when you get back)

 

The last order of excellency that I can think of today is I AM GETTING A FISHIE. And I will name him Ernest. I don't know what colour I am getting yet. Maybe I should just go to petland and get little shrimpies instead. hehehe. And Chris is getting a guinea pig. We looked at them the other day because we went shopping and stopped off at Petland. It was funny cuz the crazy man who worked there kept talking to Katie, and every time I said anything he would cut me off and talk to me like I was stupid hahahaha. And it was also funny cuz Chris couldnt pick up any of the guinea pigs. But there was one there that was soooooooo cute and I wanted to take him home, but I knew my mom would be mad hahaha. And I think my doggie would also be mad. And probably Chris would be mad cuz I think thats the one he wanted. Guinea pigs are so cute :D.

 

Anyways I am off now to the Wonderful World of Room Cleaning!!!
